They've been fighting break-up rumors for months, but new reports suggest that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have been pulling the wool over everyone's eyes and are actually secretly engaged.

Eva Mendes Steps Out In Ryan Gosling's Shirt?

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry on April 19, the couple truly is stronger than ever, despite the constant reports that they're splitting up, and is actually secretly engaged and planning a wedding.

The couple is reportedly just trying to stay out of the limelight, but with Gosling's Lost River (formerly How to Catch a Monster) heading to Cannes soon, the couple's secret engagement could come to light.

Eva Mendes Lusted After By Another Woman?

However, if the couple is secretly engaged, it is unlikely that they would confirm the news at Cannes, and Mendes may likely not even wear a ring because the couple is notorious for trying to keep the media spotlight on their relationship.

The news is a wild departure from the rumors that have been constantly plaguing the couple since January, with various reports and rumors claiming the couple had not only split, but that Gosling was reportedly reconnecting with his ex-girlfriend and The Notebook co-star, Rachel McAdams.

Sources told OK! Magazine in March that McAdams was trying to win Gosling back, and that he has been somewhat receptive to the idea.

"Rachel has been very low-key about it all," the source said at the time. "She's played it very smart and used the whole 'just friends' angle to get close to Ryan again, but she 100 percent wants him back. He' not the cheating type, but he hasn't been honest with Eva about how much contact he has with Rachel."

Though Gosling isn't allegedly the cheating type, a recent Cosmopolitan article claimed he could be a cheater simply because of his name. The website quoted a poll of 2000 women on siteopia.com, which pegged the top ten names of men who are most likely to cheat on a partner.

Ryan came in third on the list, behind Wayne and Liam. The other names included Matt, Craig, Steve, Scott, Dean, Mark and Lee.

Gosling and McAdams'relationship, which ended after two years back in 2007, has been known as one which Gosling looks back at fondly. In an interview with GQ shortly after the couple broke up, he even called McAdams one of the great loves of his life.

"I mean, God bless The Notebook," Gosling said at the time. "It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."
