Enzo (Michael Malarkey) may have crossed over to the other side on the last episode of The Vampire Diaries, but it doesn't mean he's gone for good.

"His story isn't over - he's going to become kind of this ghost villain moving forward and we'll see him all the way through the finale as the bad guy," executive producer Caroline Dries told Entertainment Weekly.

"He's pissed that he's dead, but that's amplified by the fact that around him, people are being sucked into the ether just like Vicki, so his concern is, 'I want out.'"

Elena And Stefan Will 'Work It Out in The End'?

Enzo, who will have it out for Stefan and Damon for the rest of the season, will have more powers than previous ghosts and fans will discover why on the next episode. He will also cause some major damage as he attempts to leave the other world.

"You just wait, you just wait and see - he's determined to make Damon's life and Stefan's life a living hell," Dries also said.

Enzo's bad fate was already suspected after Malarkey teased fans with two Instagram posts on April 8.

"Last day out in the woods," he posted along with a photo of a cemetery with tombstones. He also uploaded a photo of a statue with the caption, "Sayonara #TVDS5." At least he won't be gone forever!
