Brave cancer survivor Robin Roberts is definitely standing in her truth these days. Roberts recently spilled the beans on her 10 year relationship with girlfriend Amber Laign.

Saved By Love! Robin Robert Had 2 Years To Live Till Girlfriend Amber Laign Saved Her

In her new book, Everybody's Got That Something, the Good Morning America host, 53, describes her shy girlfriend, 39, as "the wind beneath my wings."

However, the two reside in separate cribs. "Amber and I have been a loving couple for almost ten years now, but we choose not to live together. Maybe that's why we've lasted almost a decade!' she writes.

Roberts first came out with her relationship last December on Facebook acknowledging the love and support of her girlfriend through her most trying times. Roberts battled breast cancer in 2007, and then fought myelodysplastic syndrome, a blood and marrow disease in 2012. Laign, a massage therapist, was by her side the whole way - even when Roberts only had two years to live.

In a classy post Roberts wrote on her Facebook:

"I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together."

And what a glorious triumph it has been for Roberts, who was given the go ahead by doctors that she could return to hosting Good Morning America. In an earlier Enstars report, she described herself as a "walking miracle."

The happy couple actually met on a blind date, but Laign had no idea who Roberts was.

"Mutual friends set us up on a blind date. I liked the fact that she had no idea who I was," Roberts writes. "She rarely followed sports, so she never saw me on ESPN, and her office mates at the time watched a different morning show ... ouch!"

The two hit it off, and lasted through Roberts' trial by fire. She writes a special dedication to Laign in her new book:

"Amber, thank you for giving me your blessing to share what you mean to me and my family. You shy away from the spotlight, but I'm proud that many now know what I've always known ...

"You are a phenomenal, beautiful woman in every way. Bless you for selflessly being the wind beneath my wings," she wrote.
