The renewal of Beauty and the Beast -- which is currently in its second season -- was in a state of a limbo, and mostly leaning towards cancellation on CW up until, but in a surprising turn, it seems like things are suddenly looking up for the series.

TvByTheNumbers which has been tracking the show's progress in that regard suggests that new reports have surfaced that hint at the fact that the show might get a longer life.

But the publication is still wary of these new reports and believes that is the show were actually to be renewed it would be the most "mind boggling of broadcast TV renewal decisions."

What We Know So Far About the Upcoming Episodes of Season 2 

The last we heard was that Beauty and the Beast might be competing with Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People for renewal on CW.

While nothing was certain about the fate of Beauty and the Beast, it was being believed that CW's strategy, which is being as a possible six-episode final season to another thirteen episodes hinted at the cancellation of show.

The show which was currently on a brief hiatus is in its second season, will come back on the air during summer. 

It was pretty clear that the CW show was in dire straits as it was nominated for E! Online's Save One Show tournament. But the good news was that the fans were really backing the show as it won, with the most number of fans voting to save the show and renew it for another season. Jay Ryan, who plays Vincent, and Kristin Kreuk, who plays Catherine, recently thanked fans during E! Online's Save One Show tournament.

Sam Reveals Scheme to Incriminate Vincent for Murder? 

Fans are going to be starved of some Vin-Cat action for a while but the wait won't be that long and spoilers are already on a roll. The preview for the rest of the season reveals that Vincent is in prison, leaving a very distressed Catherine, who finally patched-up and fell back in love with him. He also has the threat of a life sentence looming over his head.

The second part of Beauty and the Beast will premiere on June 2 on CW.
