Miriam Weeks, the 18-year-old porn star who attends Duke University, is taking her views on women's rights and gender equality to another level for Gender Violence Awareness Week in a blog she wrote.

On Tuesday, The Huffington Post published Weeks's story on how people tend to frown upon women more than men when it comes to the subject of rape. The porn actress, who also goes by "Belle Knox," mentioned that she was talking to her friends about how she knew someone who was accused and prosecuted for sexual assault and her friends didn't seem to take the subject as seriously as Weeks did.

"My friend was quick to jump in and say, 'Oh, I'm sure he didn't rape anyone. The girl probably was drunk and regretted it in the morning. It happens all the time,'" Weeks wrote.

The X-rated actress then revealed that her other friend agreed that it happens a lot, and that girls tend to dress provocatively and get drunk at frat parties.

"Did I mention that both of my friends are 19-year-old women?" Weeks wrote.

She then mentioned how society usually tells women to be careful so they won't get raped when men should actually be told not to rape.

"I dream of a day when my daughter can walk down the street without the fear of being assaulted," Weeks continued. "And yes, I think that I should be able to wear whatever the hell I want without being labeled as a slut. This idea that men cannot control their impulses is archaic and offensive."
