Young love can be harder than surviving an alien invasion, and Falling Skies' Hal and Maggie will continue to learn this the hard way.

The post-apocalyptic couple will be heading in different directions at the start of season 4, and while their mid-season reunion will initially be joyous, a moment of brotherly betrayal will blow their love boat out of the water.

"I can tell you that there is another love triangle and that Hal, it's payback for Hal. It's scary. It's as scary as it gets for a relationship. It really, really is," said Sarah Carter (Maggie), according to Happy Cool. "It's with his little brother. It's with Ben."

Well, so much for the Mason boys' strong brotherly bond. However, Carter carefully avoided explaining whether or not this will be the end of the Hal (Drew Roy and Maggie romance.

"[Reading the script] broke my heart. I cried, I called [showrunner] David Eick and said are you sure you want to do this to Hal and Maggie because we've worked so hard to create that depth and loyalty," Carter told Happy Cool. "It's always a blessing to really give audiences a taste of a great relationship that goes through hell and comes out the other side and I just went, 'Are we going to be able to make it through this one? I don't know if we're going to make it through this one.'"
