Very little is known about the fourth season of Homeland, but one of the show's producers, Alex Gansa, and star Claire Danes teased a few details this week.

Brody's Death Will 'Dog' Carrie Through Homeland Season 4?

Danes, who plays Carrie Mathison on the series, spoke with Gansa and Variety recently and revealed what will be going down in season 4 of Homeland.

"It is mostly a Carrie story," Gansa said. "Saul [Mandy Patinkin] figures into the narrative in a very, very important way." Carrie is set to be performing her new job as a station chief in both Islamabad and Kabul in the new season, Gansa confirmed.

Jessica Brody Officially Gone From Homeland Ahead of 'Major Reset' in Season 4?

While Carrie is succeeding in her professional life, her personal life still remains a mystery. It is currently unknown if her pregnancy will factor into anything for the new season, though Danes is pretty confident that it will

"I think [the child] is going to be a big theme for her emotionally," Danes said. "I think she probably escapes into her job. I think she hurls herself at it as a way to avoid some unresolved, very painful feelings to do with Brody."

She also noted that she will continue to deal with her bipolar disorder in the new season.

"The pendulum is always swinging, and even if she's composed and kind of coherent we have to anticipate the possibility of some rupture," Danes said. Gansa confirmed that Carrie's bipolar disorder would "always" be a part of Homeland and that she will continue to deal with it through season 4.

While the producers are still in the pre-production stage of season 4, they are set to begin filming in South Africa in June. South Africa is expected to double as Islamabad.

Homeland season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on Showtime, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date.
