Is RHONY on the rocks? It sure looks like it. Ratings are down, and housewives Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson banded together to suggest to Andy Cohen that some other wives be dropped or brought back to boost ratings. Rumors of a shakedown are swirling, and it sounds like there's going to be a rumble in the Bronx. And only a blue blood can save it.
These ladies want Countess LuAnn De Lesseps brought back and Aviva Drescher tossed off, reported Radar Online on May 14.
"They want Andy to give her back that apple," an insider told Radar.
De Lesseps was demoted to cameo-status, as previously reported. But now with the ratings-challenged show, "They've been hinting to him that they want LuAnn in and Aviva out," instead of bringing on a new cast member.
So what does the Countess have to say about it?
"Only money stands in the way" of the Countess' full-time return.
"Money can't buy you class," she told Radar last year on May 20, 2013. "It's about being a team player and being on the same team and being confident and comfortable what we're doing together as a team."
Apparently all the New Yorkers were insulted by Bravo's initial low offer, and were not going to film. However, they all relented - except for the Countess.
De Lesseps was reportedly "furious that the deal on the table is not as lucrative as her past agreements, especially considering she and Ramona are the only two original cast members and she is by far the most recognizable face of the New York franchise."
