In an interview dated March 17, Julianna Margulies, who plays Alicia on The Good Wife, and Robert King, co-creator of the CBS legal drama series dished on the ending of the chapter and how it flow into the next season.

Alicia And Kalinda To Reconnect And Reaffirm Friendship In Finale?

Speaking with the LA Times, Margulies suggested that Will Gardner's death might have unwittingly injected new life into the show.

"As tragic as the loss of the Will Gardner character is," Margulies said, "it has definitely fueled a new energy into the writing."

End of Season 9 Will Be 'Game-Changing' For Alicia? 

Previous reports have suggested that this season will end with a cliffhanger, but King clarified that that wasn't really the case and would essentially allow for a new begining of the show.

"I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger in a true sense," says Robert King of the finale. "This is more like suggesting a new chapter."

Finale To Start A 'New Chapter' And Feature An 'Explosive Scene'?  

Here's the official synopis for the finale, titled A Weird Year:

"An open feed from a camera mistakenly left on after a teleconferenced deposition between the lawyers of Florrick/Agos and Lockhart/Gardner reveals a threat to the firm that Alicia and Cary never saw coming. Meanwhile, the fate of Lockhart/Gardner hangs in the balance as Louis Canning views for a larger role. Also, Alicia entrusts Zach's high school graduation party to Jackie and Veronica, on the fifth season finale of The Good Wife."

A Weird Year will air on May 18 on CBS.
