The most recent rumors that are emerging are the possiblity of Thea going to the dark side, and becoming a villain. A report inferred that after Thea suggested that she didn't want to be weak it could mean that she was being moved by evil forces.

The same report also wondered if Detective Lance was dead or not, suggesting that he might still be alive for season 3. And in the chance that he is dead it seems like that will inspire Laurel to become the Black Canary.

Guggenheim recently revealed that the writing team was headlong into conceptualising the next season and are also figuring out how things will pan out, considering the cross-over show Flash is about to premiere soon.

"We've been so sort of deep into the planning process of Season 3 in terms of the story that we're telling vis-a-vis Arrow that we haven't yet gotten to the question of, "Okay are we going to cross over with Flash? How are we going to do it?" et cetera, et cetera. I imagine that time will come because it would be a lot of fun, but we haven't done it yet."
