Rumor currently has it that the winner of the next America's Top Model could be a male.

Series Will Become Extra Controversial?

On Saturday, Community Newspaper Group reported that Ben Schreen, a Waverly native, will be competing on the 21st season. He will be one out of the 14 contestants in the race.

The site posted some more details about Schreen, including that he received a college degree in communication studies in 2011 from UNI. He reportedly was attending the University of Dubuque before he transferred.

After college, the contestant moved to Los Angeles where he acts, sings and models.

Waverly native Meredith Toay revealed her confidence in Schreen that he'll do a good job in the modeling competition hosted by Tyra Banks.

"He was always a very charismatic individual that commanded the attention of the public eye," Toay said.

There was another rumor that Chantelle Brown-Young, a girl with a skin condition, could end up winning the competition as well. The contestant reportedly has vitilego, which causes lighter marks on skin typically to someone who is naturally dark.

According to Brown-Young's audition video, she plans to show other people that they can follow their dreams despite any trademarks that society deems as flawed.

"The people thinking they can't do what they want to do because of the little flaws, you can definitely do it and I'm here to prove it," Brown-Young said. "I have something very profound about the way I look. A lot of people have a story or a background, but mind is painted on my body."

"America's Next Top Model" Season 21 is expected to premiere this summer on The CW.
