The plot synopsis for the upcoming Season 2 premiere of Under the Dome has been released, revealing the various new problems for the troubled town of Chester's Mill.

Barbie Has Conflicts With Father In Under the Dome Season 2?

In the Season 2 premiere of Under the Dome, Barbie (Mike Vogel) will find that his fate will "lie in Big Jim's [Dean Norris] hands," according to the official CBS plot synopsis, while the Dome becomes even more of a threat as it becomes "magnetized."

Additionally, Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) will enlist in the help of a stranger in order to save a mystery girl's life. It is soon discovered that this girl "may hold clues to origin of the Dome."

Big Jim Caught Between Julia & New Woman In Season 2?

The Season 2 premiere was written by Stephen King, who wrote the Under the Dome novel on which the TV series is based. He will also be making a cameo appearance in the premiere episode.

The plot synopsis also notes that Eddie Cahill and Karla Crome have joined the cast as series regulars in Season 2. Cahill is set to play Sam, the brother-in-law of Big Jim who is also a former EMT, while Crome will be playing Rebecca, a schoolteacher who is very science-based and gets into conflict with Big Jim.

Before the Season 2 premiere, CBS will air a one-hour special recapping the first season of Under the Dome while also looking forward to what's ahead in Season 2. It will air Monday, June 23 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
