Game of Thrones fans were treated to quite a surprise on Sunday evening even though by now they are used to seeing their beloved characters dying on the show.

Game Of Thrones Spoilers: Is Tyrion Fighting For His Life?

In The Watchers On The Wall, Ygritte wanted to kill Jon Snow herself in the epic battle of wildings vs. crow until her fate had changed. While Ygritte instructed her wilding clan that no one was to kill Jon except for herself, Jon didn't make the same deal with his team at Castle Black.

In the episode, Ygritte had made her way through the battle to Jon, and it was clear that she didn't have it in her to kill him. As she hesitated, she was shot through the heart with Olly's arrow, and as she died, told Jon, "We should've stayed in that cave," and "You know nothing, Jon Snow."

Did Lily Allen Lie About Being Offered A Role On The Show?

Actress Rose Leslie, who plays Ygritte, said that while she's saddened to see her character go on the show, she does hint on who Jon Snow should move forward with now that his true love is dead.

"I think it is a lovely thing for somebody to move on and love someone else, but it is a tricky thing," Leslie told People.com in a new interview. "You don't want it to be his sisters - even though incest isn't necessarily frowned upon in the world of Game of Thrones - and Cersei is just so evil."

"If I had to choose someone on the show right now, I guess it would be Margaery Tyrell," she added.

Game of Thrones' season finale, The Children airs on Sunday, June 15 at 9 p.m. EST/PST on HBO.
