Trapped under lock and key at the local psychiatric hospital at the end of season 3, Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) won't be out of commission for long. The Grayson matriarch will quickly find her way out of Emily's (Emily VanCamp) latest trap and back into her complicated Long Island life at the start of next season.

"[Victoria] takes stock in the horrible things that Emily has done and the chaos she has rained down on the Grayson family," said executive producer Aaron Harberts, according to TV Guide. "She's going to be pissed and she'll come out swinging. As Emily is trying to create a new, more positive life for herself...Victoria is going to be coming up behind her."

While Emily was previously seeking retribution for crimes committed during her childhood, the recent murders of Conrad (Henry Czerny), Aiden (Barry Sloane), and Pascal (Olivier Martinez) combined with the reemergence of David Clarke will work to bring the story back into the present.

"So much of the show was built on the past, but with Conrad being taken down and with [flight] 197 being put to bed, what we're most excited about is now the show can start living and breathing in the present." Harberts told TV Line.
