The Pretty Little Liars world changed drastically during the season 5 premiere, but no ones life has be altered quite so much as Alison DiLaurentis.

Aria To Have 'Traumatic' Fallout From Killing 'A', What Will 'Pretty Little Liars' Focus On Now Major Villain Is Dead?

Missing and believed dead since the series kicked off in 2010, Alison (Sasha Pieterse) shocked her clique when she returned during season 4. The young teen has yet to return to Rosewood, however, and Alison's homecoming will be undeniably rocky.

In a series of sneak peeks for "Whirly Girl," fans can watch Alison struggle to become reacquainted with life in the small Pennsylvania town. From her hesitation to return at all (the teen nearly hops right back on a greyhound bus once she gets within the town limits), to helping Detective Holbrook (Sean Faris) close the book on his long-running investigation into her, to settling back into a home without her mother, Alison will be in for a tumultuous second episode.

According to executive producer Joseph Dougherty, one of the problems Alison will struggle the most with is coming to terms with the death of her mother.

"I think she's going to be upset," Dougherty told E!. "She made up her mind and was going to go back and get some answers, and if this person is not there, she's not going to get the answers she wanted to get. There are as many unanswered questions in that town for Ali as there are for those other girls."
