While speaking about the season 9 finale she segued into the what might be lined up in the next chapter.

"This [episode] has that urgency to it and that you can really trust no one, and you feel that... There's a bigger conspiracy at play and they don't know what that is at first," she said. "There's a big cover-up. There's a constant threat to our team because what they will uncover is a pretty big deal and their lives are in serious jeopardy."

Messer's words might very well ring true as A.J. Cook, who plays Jennifer Jareau on the show, revealed that the finale of season 9 will actually influence the way things pan out in season 10.

"It's Season 10, its going to be a big season. I will say that how Season 9 ends will directly impact Season 10," she said.

But fans will have to wait a while as no conrete details will be out anytime soon. Messer suggested that the writers haven't even started working on their ideas for the next season, as ther were on a well-deserved break.

"There's a version where we pick up and summertime's gone by just like in real life, so I don't know yet," Messer said. "We're just unplugging from the show in the next few weeks and the beauty of that is when the writers get back together, we can say, "I thought of this. What do you think?" We had such an amazing year."

The second and final part of the finale, Demons, aired on Wednesday, May 14 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
