While he waits for his sentencing for serious fraud charges, Apollo Nida kills time and slams critics who have been coming for his wife, Phaedra Parks, for marrying him.

Phaedra Parks Denies Involvement In Fraud Scam

Considering the fact that Parks, who stars in Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Nida quickly tied the knot after he was released from jail in 2009 (for similar fraud charges that he is facing now), many have not hesitated to question Parks' judgment in marrying a convicted felon. But Nida is clapping back and letting haters know Parks knew what she was doing.

"If I was a deadbeat, if I was a no good, just a jailbird, whatever...You're talking about an educated woman with many, many accolades under her belt. You don't think with all of that, she can pick a man? Let's think about that. People don't think about that part. There's something that I had to offer."

He added that he has tried to ignore some of the bad press about his and Parks' marriage, but at times he reads different reports and has decided speak out.

He also spoke on his legal issues as he faces up to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to several fraud charges including wire fraud and identity theft. His alleged scam brought in nearly $3 million.

"I try to stay focused on a higher power and know that there is a God...and know that something else is guiding me. Psychologically they say that your upbringing will make you who you are...but why can't I pull the positive out of it."

Nida touched on his rough childhood and revealed he didn't start school until third grade. His aunt also took him in after she saw him on the street when he was around 10 years old.

Nida is scheduled to be sentenced on July 8.
