This leaves some speculation on how hurt this character will be and if he'll end up getting away from the walkers or not.

There is a good chance that more characters will die since executive producer Scott M. Gimple revealed that things could change in a drastic way.

"It's knowing thematically where you're going, knowing what you want to achieve, but almost accounting for expansion from that - having an end in mind that's flexible," Gimple told Movie Pilot. "And even, I would say, our show could keep going as a story, but it would be a new story."

The producer also mentioned that new characters could come along at some point.

"The characters that we have, we would tell all of their stories but use the environment to tell new characters' stories," Gimple said. "But that's wishful thinking that things would go on and on and on and on."

The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to premiere in October on AMC.
