This inference can be arrived at as this new development ties in with earlier reports that alluded to the fact that one of the new characters being introduced in the next season would be romatically involved with Felicity.

According to a TVLine report, the new character will be quite the charmer and an entrepreneur working on some novel technology. The publication states that not only will his pursuit of Felicity make him Oliver's enemy but they will also be set against each other professionally. The character will become a "tech-powered superhero."

An E!Online report dated June 17, confirmed that Oliver and Felicity did indeed share a kiss which was later edited out.

It is being suggested that the cut out footage might be emerge in the bonus features in the DVD series.

Recently, Amell particularly addressed the question relating to Oliver and Felicity's relationship in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Judging by the interview, it seems like Oliver and Felicity won't be getting together any time soon.

"Think back to what Oliver said in the sixth episode, which is, 'Because of what we do, I can't be with someone I could really care about,' and I think that that remains true. So I don't necessarily think that it was a total bait-and-switch," he said.
