Ryan Gosling 'Hated' Rachel McAdams On The Set Of 'The Notebook?

OK! Magazine reported July 9 that the Place Beyond The Pines Co-Stars are expectant parents, after a three-year rocky romance-but that the news is something they're both excited about.

"She's been ready for motherhood for a while now," the magazine quoted an insider as saying. "And to be sharing this experience with Ryan is a dream come true for her!"

Father's Day Hoax Tricks Millions Into Thinking Ryan Gosling Was A Father?

The couple has reportedly been on and off for a while, as they are notoriously private and have rarely been spotted in public together-with their last confirmed sighting together occurring in 2013.

However, the magazine reports, the pregnancy has given their relationship a new purpose, and reasons for them to stay together, as Gosling reportedly doesn't want to bring a child into the world who would have a similar situation to the one he grew up with-where a father wasn't present.

"Ryan grew up without a dad, so he always said when he had kids, he'd be there no matter what," the source said. "This is it for him."

The rumors come after the couple once again became the source of speculation for a break-up. Mendes was noticeably absent from the Cannes Film Festival, where Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River, screened. She also has not been seen out in public in months, which could add to the speculation that she is trying to hide the fact that she is pregnant-as she is now reportedly seven months along and likely showing.

The two have also faced rumors that Gosling had become extremely jealous that his ex-girlfriend was rumored to be moving on with Jake Gyllenhaal, and was considering ending things with Mendes in an effort to win McAdams back.

The issue of having children has been rumored to be a point of contention between Mendes and Gosling in the past however-with the actress saying in the past that she didn't want to be a mom, while Gosling has expressed his interest in being a father someday.

The couple has also expressed different views in the past on things like having children.

Mendes has previously said that she wasn't thinking about becoming a mom, while Gosling has expressed his desire to be a father in the past.

"I'd like to be making babies but I'm not, so I'm making movies," he said back in 2011. "When someone comes along, I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that."

"I'll make movies until I make babies," he added.
