They get a lot of criticism for how they act on their hit reality series, but two cast members of CMT's Party Down South are now sticking up for their partying ways.

Taylor 'Lil' Bit' Wright and Josh Murray both recently sat down with Fox News to talk about their show, and defend the way they--and their six fellow cast members--are referred to on their series--as beer-guzzling, gun-toting, cowboy boot-wearing friends that are proud to be called rednecks.

Though many would think the term redneck to be a negative one, Wright and Murray both said they wear the title like a badge of honor.

"I don't think redneck is a negative term at all," Murray said. "I'm proud of it, hell yeah I am."

"People will put a negative turn on anything but redneck to me has always been country," Wright added. "A redneck is no-filler country."

The two also talked about the comparisons they often get to Jersey Shore, and mentioned how they have absolutely no regrets about doing the show, which is currently filming a third season.

"I don't have any regrets, everything that we've done with the show has really been fun," Murray said. "I decided to do the show because it was an opportunity people like me just don't get. I'm literally a barefoot idiot from a small town."

The two also opened up for the first time about their lives prior to the show--Wright was previously married, while Murray is a single father of a six-year-old son. And though they have no regrets over their experiences on the show, Murray did admit that the way he is on the show isn't the way he acts at home.

"There's a lot of people that still don't know that I have a 6-year-old son," the single 31-year-old said. "I try to keep him away from the show, I don't let him watch the show. He's never seen 'that Murray' [on the show because] I don't cuss in front of him and there's no partying. He just knows the cool laid back daddy and when he gets old enough to see it I don't think it will change his opinion of me."

Party Down South airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on CMT.
