Most of the stars who appeared on NBC's polarizing hit Heroes won't be back for its upcoming 2015 reboot Heroes Reborn, as suggested by series creator Tim Kring recently.

Christopher Eccleston "Interested" In Returning As Peter Petrelli's Mentor in Heroes Reborn

Kring, who created both Heroes and its upcoming reboot show Heroes Reborn, spoke with Entertainment Weekly this weekend about the franchise and who the reboot will be centered on.

While Jack Coleman will be returning as HRG/Noah Bennet, he is the only cast member confirmed so far. Kring is suggesting that there will be very few returning characters for the reboot.

Ali Larter Discusses Possibility Of Returning for Heroes Reborn

"The vast, vast majority are brand new characters, brand new ideas," he revealed. "[Bringing back previous characters is] really only to give a sense of continuity and a tether to the original world. If it was all completely brand new, we'd miss certain elements that need to be there to give you that bridge to cross to something new. I approached Coleman because he was a character who had a spine through the series that allowed you to meet new characters. So he's a character I wanted to make sure had a little part at the beginning of this thing."

This reboot will not necessarily nullify the first series' four seasons, as Kring noted that it will be taking place in a "post-season 4 universe." He said that the reboot will "tie into some of the ideas that were left dangling" at the end of the series after NBC cancelled it.

Heroes Reborn is scheduled to air on NBC in 2015, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date. It will air as a 13-episode standalone miniseries.
