Witches of East End might be known for its morbid drama, but it's also known for having a comedic side, which is something that one of the actresses is proud of.

Frederick Has 'Another Side Of Him'

On Thursday, Huff Post Live posted a live interview with Julia Ormond (Joanna) who revealed that one of the reasons she decided to sign on for the show was because it was funny.

"When we shot the pilot, [director] Mark Waters shot the pilot with us, and that was very meaningful to me that they had somebody really solid who could get the warmth of the show," Ormond said. "And for me I think what makes that different is when you have the comedy and the humor and it's slightly tongue and cheek even though we take it seriously because of course, we have to take it seriously."

The actress went on how the series can be protective of the audience because as scary as it can get, there is still the fun side that makes the show more likeable.

"Whatever happens, however dark it gets, it's going to be okay because it's also kind of silly," Ormond said.

Actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Freya) recently teased to Hollywood Life where her character could end up in the next season finale, which will likely not be a happy place.

"Oh gosh. There's so much complications in poor Freya's life in Season 2," Dewan-Tatum said. "I begin this season heartbroken so that's where I start- so imagine where I end up after 13 episodes."

Witches of East End airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
