After Switched at Birth surprisingly killed off one of its main characters, the actor revealed how this will affect the two families as well as how this particular character makes an important impact.

Bay's College Dreams Chatter

On Monday, The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Gilles Marini, who was known for playing Angelo on the series as Bay's biological father. When his character was killed off in a tragic car accident, Marini talked about how this is going to resonate with the family members.

"When I lost my dad I was kind of the same age that the girls [Bay and Daphne] are on the show. It's very simple. You wither stand up and you become the man or the woman you will be the rest of your life, or you derail and you go toward things that you should maybe not go toward," Marini said.

Emmett's Relationship With His Father Chatter

"Who's going to be the one who says, 'I forgive you,' to what Regina did prior [to Angelo's death]," the actor continued. "How Daphne's going to react to the loss of the father she wanted to have. All those things are going to come down the pipe."

Even though Angelo's dead, Marini did mention that there's a chance that he'll be around for flashbacks.

"I think yes, I might come back once or twice in flashbacks or a 'what if' episode," Marini said. "I told [writer] Lizzy [Weiss], 'Anytime I'm free, I'm yours!'"

Switched at Birth airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
