Actor Shemar Moore will soon return to The Young and the Restless.

"I am excited about returning to Young and Restless as a special guest," Moore said in a statement. "This is where I got my start, and I am looking forward to reuniting with my soap opera family."

CBS announced that the 44-year-old will reprise his role as Malcolm Winters in September for the first time since 2005. His character will return to Genoa City on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 to make amends with his family. He will also be reunited with his on-screen brother, Neil, played by Kristoff St. John.

Moore appeared on the popular soap opera from 1994 to 2002 and from 2004 to 2005. In 2000, he won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Since Young and the Restless, Moore found success as Derek Morgan in CBS' Criminal Minds. He's currently filming The Bounce Back expected in theaters in 2015.

The actor shared the news of his soap opera return with fans via social media. Moore posted a photo of an old scene from the show on his Instagram with the caption, "THIS JUST IN: I'll REUNITE W/ my #YR Crew after almost 10 YRS!!!!! #ShemarReturns2YR ...Sept. 10 & 11 on @CBSDAYTIME mark your calendars!!!!!"
