The former Alpha will undergo a few major changes in the season half of season 4, and Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) may find himself without his werewolf powers thanks to Kate Argent (Jill Wagner)

"He's becoming a little human," Hoechlin told Clevver News. "It's been a long time coming, though. He's been a pretty terrible Alpha, now he's just kind of like, 'I'm just done with the whole thing.' I think he's going through some interesting stuff, it's going to be a challenge for him."

A werewolf since birth, Derek will have a little difficulty coming to terms with the possibility of changing his identity.

"I liken it to when I stopped playing baseball. That was such a huge thing in my life and like an identity for me. When I lost that you go through a weird phase of, 'Who am I without that?'" Hoechlin said. "I think that's what Derek is going through with the werewolf thing, he's trying to figure out who am I when I'm not a werewolf any more."
