While fans of The CW's The Vampire Diaries took it pretty hard when stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev split, hooked up, and split again, Somerhalder seems to be getting pretty cozy with new girlfriend Nikki Reed.

Nina Dobrev & Ian Somerhalder Relationship Rumors

The relatively private couple was seen packing on the PDA at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend. According to People on Sunday, Somerhalder and Reed were sighted kissing while they checked into the Hard Rock Hotel Saturday night and spent most of the parties attached at the hip.

They also met up with a number of Somerhalder's The Vampire Diaries co-stars, though it looks like they made a point of avoiding Dobrev.

25-year-old Reed filed for divorce from 29-year-old American Idol alum Paul McDonald back in May. The couple, who'd married in 2011, had already separated two months before.

In addition to his Dobrev break-up, Vampire Diaries exit, and Reed romance, 35-year-old Somerhalder has been having himself a busy year.

He continues to be involved with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation and was recently seen on Showtime's Years Of Living Dangerously, which he has been actively promoting to receive a second season.

The actor also took some time this week to send some brotherly love to Deputy Assistant Secretary of State For Energy Diplomacy Amos Hochstein. "Very proud moment," tweeted Somerhalder Sunday evening. "My brother @amoshchstein just named Washington's Top Energy Diplomat." Somerhalder is a known advocate for social and environmental issues.
