Maksim Chmerkovskiy loves to speak his mind whenever he's on the dance floor, but when it comes to his personal life, it looks like he prefers to stay mum. The Dancing With The Stars standout recently dodged questions when asked about his relationship with rumored girlfriend Jennifer Lopez.

While Chmerkovskiy did attend Lopez's 45th birthday bash in the Hamptons just last week, the dancer sidestepped questions about the pop star during one of his dance performances in Westbury, N.Y. recently.

When asked if Lopez was going to attend the show, Chmerkovskiy told People Magazine, "I have a lot of friends and a lot of them are coming tonight," even though Lopez did not come.

Just last month, though, Chmerkovskiy did let the cat out of the bag about his supposed fling with Lopez. In an interview, Chmerkovskiy says that dating Lopez brought his fame to a whole new level, although it was a rather "annoying" experience for him as well.

"I now understand why Hollywood is such a different place to have a good relationship in," the dancer says, according to the NY Daily News. "Because there's all these interferences. Two people have to be so strong - and notice I didn't say 'in love.' They have to be in love, but trust me, there have been situations when two people have been really in love and all of this gets in the way and it completely ruins it."

Just last month, Lopez took to her Twitter account to answer the big question on whether or not she is dating Chmerkovskiy, and she was very firm in her answer.

"No I'm not. (dating anyone new already.)" Lopez tweeted when a follower asked her about her love life.
