After the massive success of Skyfall, the next Bond film directed by Sam Mendes is under close observation, but could the script be headed for more revisions leading to a release date change?

According to the Daily Mail, Mendes and star Daniel Craig called on writers Neil Purvis and Robert Wade to "save" the script written by John Logan. Mendes and Craig were wanting the writers to add some thrills into the plot.

Daily Mail added though that sources told them on Thursday that Purvis and Wade have delivered their work to producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, and the green light has been given for filming to start in late November/ early December.

Sam Mendes 'Bond 24': 'Skyfall' Director Confirms His Return for 007 Film in 2015

"Everyone's excited, and all systems are pumping away at full speed,' the Daily Mail 007 informant said. They added that Purvis and Wade's script is 'substantially different' from Logan's.

"There was an awful lot of work to do. It was a big job," they added. "The impression given was that Purvis and Wade were hired to add jokes, but it was a bigger deal than that,' an executive at one of the studios associated with the Bond films explained."

The Daily Mail revealed that Logan's effort had been politely moved aside.

They added that Mendes himself had brought in Logan, an award-winning playwright and screenwriter, to work on Skyfall and rewrote drafts that Purvis and Wade had penned.

Since then, Mendes has tried to bring Purvis and Wade back, and has dumped Logan from the film entirely.

Bond 24 is set to come out on November 6, 2015.
