True Blood may have killed off Joe Manganiello's character Alcide, but between Magic Mike 2 and dating Sofia Vergara, he seems to be doing just fine.

Manganiello covers this month's Men's Health UK magazine where he shows off his impressive body and calls himself a "unicorn" compared to most Hollywood actors.

"I didn't just train after work: I hit the gym like an animal," Manganiello told the magazine today (via MTV UK). "I pushed myself to the point where people around me were borderline frightened." Manganiello even wrote a book about his workout regime called Evolution.

Between True Blood's shirtless scenes and Magic Mike's stripper moves, Manganiello said it was good motivation to always be in shape, not just when he had to film certain parts.

"When you're shirtless every day there's no let up. So we spent a fortnight doing thousands of push-ups, thousands of curls, thousands of lat raises," he said. Manganiello revealed he basically worked out for two weeks straight.

Manganiello also slammed actors who are photo shopped on men's magazine covers or "wearing winter clothes."

"I see them and think: 'That guy doesn't work out, I know that guy and he smokes two packs of cigarettes a day and is a complete drunk on the weekends. Now he's putting out an illusion on the cover of a glossy magazine," the actor said. "It's absurd to me. I'm athletic and I'm healthy. I'm like a unicorn in the world of actors."
