The penultimate episode, entitled "Crossbones," will feature Blackbeard, portrayed by John Malkovich, setting out to sea with the plan to hatch a scheme that will force his crew members to determine how loyal they are to him. Then, in the finale, which is called "Blackbeard," Santa Campana will be under attack, and Blackbeard will "go all in" to fend off William Jagger's attack.

It is probably worth noting that the last episode is called "Blackbeard," and not "Crossbones," which is the actual name of the show, and also worth noting that neither of these synopses mention Richard Coyle's Tom Lowe, the British spy who was given the mission to kill Blackbeard when the show began. This speaks to a show that perhaps did not promote itself properly or focus on the right thing from the beginning.

The final two episodes of Crossbones air Saturday, August 2 at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on NBC. The show had a splashy premise and a big name actor playing a known character, but it just didn't quite work out. Here's the chance for viewers to say goodbye to Crossbones.
