It looks like DC will be taking a page from Marvel and won't be showing off their big bad until later on in the series.

'Justice League' Movie News: DC Wants Separation Of Movies and Comics Plots

According to Bad Ass Digest posted on Sunday, villain Darkseid will not appear until at least Justice League 2, with a possible tease after the first film.

Devin Fareci was breaking down the possibilities around Star-Lord's father in Guardians of the Galaxy and mentioned that a source told him that Darkseid would not show up in the initial Justice League film.

"My sources tell me not to expect Darkseid in the DC movieverse until Justice League 2, so that means a Guardians 2 in 2017 would definitely have the Eternals beating the New Gods to big screens," Fareci said.

There is a possibility that DC could be like Marvel and tease Darkseid at the end of Justice League or even Batman v. Superman, similar to Marvel with Thanos in The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, but more than likely the villain won't appear at all until the superhero team-up sequel.

A bad guy fans have had on their wish lists for a long time, with Doomsday, Darkseid is among the most powerful of the New Gods. His main power, the Omega Beam, is a form of energy that he fires from his eyes as either a concussive force or disintegrating energy, capable of transmuting or erasing living objects and organisms from existence as well as resurrecting them, depending on the dark lord's will.

Justice League is set to open in theaters in 2017 with no set date yet for the sequel.
