Amid the rumors that seafaring superhero Aquaman would be featured in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the film's director is coming to the defense of the frequently mocked character.

Batman vs. Superman Set Photos Arrive

When CBS Detroit, discovered by SlashFilm, was discussing Aquaman and making fun of the aquatic superhero, Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder called in to the show to defend him.

"You guys were disparaging, a little bit, Aquaman," Snyder said. "...I don't want to give anything away about the movie or anything like that, but Aquaman has some cool abilities. People are like, 'Oh what? Does he talk to animals? Because that seems like what he does. Or fish?' The cool thing with Aquaman is he has his trident. You have to realize that could cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact. That's a thing that's in the canon."

Ben Affleck's Version Of Batman Rumored To Have 'Close To 30 Years' Experience

Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa was rumored to be taking on the role, though Warner Bros. has not yet confirmed this. Snyder caught himself before confirming or denying if Aquaman was in the movie.

"He's super strong because, of course, he can exist at these super deep depths. So when he comes up here, he's crazy strong. Anyway, not to say he's in my movie or anything like that, but he has the potential to be bada-, that's all I'm saying." Snyder said.

If Momoa was to join as Aquaman, he would be joining an all-star cast that includes Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
