One of the longest-lasting pro dancers on ABC's Dancing With the Stars might not have been in the next season if it weren't for a last-minute change of heart.

'Switch-Up' Twist Will Be Back In Dancing With the Stars Season 19

Cheryl Burke, who holds the record for most DWTS seasons participated in along with Tony Dovolani, was actually very close to not participating in the fall season. AfterBuzzTV's Kristyn Burtt revealed in one of her recent Instagram videos that there was a last-minute change with Burke.

"I found out that Cheryl was going to sit out this season and they were going to put Jenna [Johnson] in as pro," Burtt revealed in the Thursday video.

She added that there is still no news on who will be a part of the dance troupe.

Burke has been one of the series' most successful pro dancers, often getting to the finale with her various celebrity partners. She won her first two seasons with the show, partnered with Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith in Season 2 and 3, respectively. She has come in second place twice and third place three times.

She came in eighth with her most recent partner, Drew Carey, on Season 18 of the show. In Season 17 she came in third place with Jack Osbourne.

Dancing With the Stars Season 19 is set to premiere Monday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. The network is also planning a separate results show for the first two weeks of competition, to air on Tuesday.
