Austin Mahone may be touring North America right now, but the 18-year-old has even bigger goals for the future.

Austin Mahone Nominated For New VMA Category

"One of my biggest goals is to fill an arena anywhere in the world," Mahone said to The Boston Herald on Friday. "If I'm in a place as far away as Australia, I want to be able to sell out an arena."

Mahone recently opened his tour at the 12,000 seat-capacity Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio and while the singer gushed about his fans to the newspaper, he made sure to mention that next year he wants to play at the 20,000 seat-capacity AT&T Center across the street.

Mahone also revealed that he wanted to expand his fan base from just the teen market. "I'll always love my younger fans," he said. "But I want to expand and reach out to an older audience, people in their 20s, 30s, 50s, 80s."

Mahone started doing that by taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge recently. Mahone posted the video on Instagram yesterday and wrote, "I ACCEPT the #alsicebucketchallenge Now I nominate @jasonderulo @pitbull and @birdman5star YOU HAVE 24 HOURS!" Fifth Harmony, Pia Mia, Kyle Massey and Hailee Steinfeld had nominated the singer.

Fifth Harmony is currently opening for Mahone on his tour, along with Shawn Mendes and The Vamps. The girls fulfilled the challenge two days ago, as well. The next stop for Mahone will be tomorrow night in Baltimore.
