"It's still in the mix, we got to see what is going to happen, and there's a very good possibility that there will be a cameo in there," Jones said. "It's a reboot so they're re-casting the whole entire film and there's a lot of excitement about it."

2016 Release Date Pegged For 'Power Rangers' Reboot

Jones has had a solid career for himself outside of Power Rangers with roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, additional Power Ranger roles, and a plethora of voice work including work in Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 and Open Season 2.

He also isn't the first actor to tease a return as both Austin St. John and Jason David Frank have also voiced a desire to return in any capacity to the new movie but Jones gives the most definitive update yet with a clear idea of what could be going on with the movie.

The script is being worked on by X-Men: First Class writers Zack Stenz and Ashley Miller with Roberto Orci producing. The film is set to open in theaters on July 22, 2016.
