Space properties are what is hot right now. After the massive success of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, every studio is trying to get in on the intergalactic epic as if it were 1977 again. But is this the movie that will be the direct response by Warner Bros.?

'Arrow' Star Says His Character Should Be In 'Justice League'

Latino Review reported a rumor on Monday that Warner Bros. is working on an adaptation of Legion of Superheroes as a direct response to Guardians. According to the site, the studio is shopping the comic around to screenwriters to get an initial treatment together.

The site goes on to outline the comics saying that the story is led by three members: Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad.

The 'Justice League' May Be Getting Money From This Character To Form The Team

In the comics, Superboy was met by three teenagers from the 30th century: Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, and Cosmic Boy, who were members of a "super-hero club" called the Legion of Superheroes. Their club had been formed with Superboy as an inspiration, and they had time travelled to recruit Superboy as a member. After a series of tests, Superboy was awarded membership and returned to his own time.

But one picture stood out in the Latino Review post that could hint at a tie to the Justice League world: a comic with Darkseid.

In the post, they talk about one of the better story lines in the series, called "The Great Darkness Saga," which has the group facing the big hero Darkseid. This villain is rumored to be the "big bad" of the DC universe, in contrary to Thanos in Marvel, and this could be the movie that introduces the villain to audiences before he faces the Justice League in a massive movie.

Legion of Superheroes isn't a sure fire thing, but it could always be one of the later dates that DC has set aside right now.
