They finally got together in the season 2 finale, but it doesn't mean things will be easy for Mindy (Mindy Kahling) and Danny (Chris Messina) on season 3 of The Mindy Project.

FOX released a teaser showing the couple's bedroom troubles on September 5-and it appears neither one will be able to overcome their own personal issues easily, before they embark on the next step in their relationship.

"You see their really awkward personality traits come out," Kahling says in the preview clip, before the two engage in their own means of making sex with one another seem okay.

"Heavenly Father, forgive us for what we're about to do," Danny begins to pray in the clip.

"I think I need to be drunk," Mindy says. "Truth be told, I don't think I've ever had sex sober, so hold on."

An earlier spoiler from Entertainment Weekly however teased that Mindy could wind up ingesting more than alcohol however-and it will potentially affect her relationship really badly.

"Getting comfortable with sex will be a hot topic between them, leading Mindy to rufie herself, which could land Danny on the wrong side of the law," the spoiler revealed. "Oh yeah, she also kisses a woman."

Meanwhile, one person who certainly won't have bedroom problems on the show is special guest star Shonda Rhimes, who filmed her episode of the series earlier today.

Kahling posted a photo of Rhimes with her co-stars, Ike Barinholtz, Ed Weeks and Adam Pally, which appears to show that the episode will pay homage to both Rhimes and Khaling's alma mater, Dartmouth College.

The Mindy Project season 3 premieres Tuesday, September 16 at 9:30 p.m. on FOX.
