On Wednesday, Harper's Bazaar released an interview with the "This is How We Do" star who dished on how she needs to be there for herself before she can be there for someone else, something that was taught to her in therapy.

"What I've learned is that if you don't have the foundation of self-love first, you really have nowhere to pull love from to give it away," Perry said. "I had to learn about taking care of myself before I could take care of others."

This seems like a challenge for the pop star since she mentioned how she has a habit of putting others before herself.

"I want to mommy everyone," she said. "I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime. I learned that through therapy."

Perry went on about the type of person she's looking for and how she doesn't want to play games, giving some insight on how her exes may have felt about her.

"As I'm heading into my 30s I have less time for bulls---," she said. "I look for the same characteristics: a sense of humor- someone who makes me laugh off the charts- someone who is sensitive, someone who loves and understands music, and who is really smart. A lot of times I've ended up with people who have been intimidated by me, unfortunately."
