Boardwalk Empire will air the fifth episode of its final season on HBO this Sunday and the stakes have never been higher.

"The only thing you can do is start again," says Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) in an upcoming preview for the episode (featured below). Based on some of the preview's footage, however, the process of starting again is easier said than done.

Converted in blood, either his own or another's, Nucky plots to make a move against Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza), who's been planning a takeover in New York, pushing out the old "bosses" in favor of a new criminal model. "He'll come for me again," warns Nucky in declaring at action must be taken.

The clip also shows rough times ahead for Margaret (Kelley Macdonald) as she battles the law and Eli (Shea Whigham), who will finally be reunited with his wife under strained circumstances.

As Chalky White (Michael K. Williams), who famously declared "Jesus was wrong" about salvation for all earlier in the season, there might not be room for beginning anew. With his daughter dead and Dr. Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright) to blame, there's plenty of vengeance to be sought before the series finale airs later this fall.

White might not be the only one willing to foresake himself to achieve his goals.

"I will not rest until I see you in your graves," says a grave and unforgiving Nucky at the close of the preview, suggesting he might be just as far from "staring over" as White is.

Boardwalk Empire continues on HBO with its fifth and final season Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
