Black Sails will return to Starz this January.

The high seas adventure will kick off its second season on January 24th. With no time jump, the series will pickup where episode 8 left off.

The crew of the Walrus is stranded just short of the Urca gold. While the sailors contend with the Spanish Soldiers that stand in their way, Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) and John Silver (Luke Arnold) must fight for survival now that the secret of their betrayal is out in the open. If that weren't bad enough, a new, priceless item has arrived on New Providence Island.

According to Arnold, the 10-episode second season will pack as much - if not more - gritty action and complex characters than the first.

"Season two was a step up again," Arnold told News.com.au (via KPopStarz). "Everything we did was ten times what we got to do in the first season. We're really playing a long game with this, as far as slowly building up the characters and the mystery in this world but the pay-offs are coming more and more."
