The line-up for the third Avengers movie is becoming more and more cluttered and random by the day, but one staple star seems to be set to return for what could be his last time in the role that brought him back to life.

'Avengers 3' May Be A Whole New Team, Include Only New Characters Like Ant-Man

It is no secret that Robert Downey Jr. is losing steam with the role of Iron Man and the actor recently renegotiated his contract to have the hero show up in Avengers 2 and 3 specifically. Will this be his last time as Tony Stark? It would seem to be that way.

Even though the actor danced around Iron Man 4 plans all of this week, in the end, he practically confirmed that it wouldn't be happening and while Marvel has some ideas, it would seem that Downey Jr. may not be involved in those, they could be set for another actor.

Spider-Man Could Be Joining The Avengers Very Soon

Marvel head Kevin Feige has said before that out of all the Avengers, Iron Man was probably the one they could re-cast the most. He related the role to James Bond and said that he believed they could find other actors to play the role whenever Downey Jr. was ready to hang it up for good.

While that may not be for a long time, it would seem like the time of Downey Jr. playing Iron Man is coming to an end and Avengers 3 may be the end of that road. It would be interesting to see if they kill him off in that movie or just let him walk off and lead to a new actor taking the role.

Either way, it seems like Iron Man will be getting a new face at some point in the future.
