The disfigured manic makes Hannibal look like Mr. Rogers minus the red sweater, and the sociopath will find a match in Cordel.

Cordel will be a "quiet, very intelligent and definitely creepy" doctor, according to TV Line, who is "attentive and gentle with Mason, a professional who cares about his work, but we get a sense he might be as sadistic as his boss - and a perfect fit to become his potential henchman."

Due to Cordel's reliance on Verger's (Michael Pitt) storyline, Pitt's upcoming scheduling conflicts may limit the newest MD's appearances.

"We're trying to work it out," Pitt told Huffington Post. "The truth is it's really just a scheduling thing. The truth is I have a lot on my plate right now, and I hope it works out. If it doesn't work out, it certainly is about scheduling."
