On October 15, a new report revealed that Kim Dickens, who played detective Rhonda Boney in Gone Girl, is joining the cast for season 3 of House of Cards.

Who Is Likely To Die In Season 3 Of House of Cards?

TVLine reported this bit of news about Dickens playing a recurring role in the Netflix series, although nothing is known about her character on the show. Dickens is mostly known to fans from her role as Joanie Stubbs in Deadwood, and also other shows like Lost, Treme and Friday Night Lights.

Filming for the series is taking place in Washington D.C. right now, probably to lend some authenticity to the setting, but for the most part the location is still Maryland, as it was for the previous two seasons. Kevin Spacey, who plays Frank Underwood, was recently spotted shooting a scene at a cemetery in Maryland.

The most recent talk surrounding the storyline had to do with the show's engagement with foreign affairs, particularly Russia, which has been a thorny issue for the US of late. It is known the Pussy Riot, the feminist punk group that was persecuted in Russia on grounds of profanity and their anti-establishment protest, will be guest starring season 3, playing themselves.

The show is directed by Beau Willimon and stars Spacey and Robin Wright, who portrays Claire Underwood on the show.

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
