The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer has yet to drop in the United States, but a European version of the long-anticipated promo made its way online on Wednesday.

'Avengers 2' Captain America & Iron Man To Fight In 'Age of Ultron'?

Similar to the footage shown at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con and this month's New York Comic Con, the first trailer showcases a much darker world than 2012's Avengers - and a far more dysfunctional band of heroes.

"I'm going to show you something beautiful," Ultron (James Spader) tells the Avengers as the preview opens. "Everyone screaming for mercy. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. You're all puppets, tangled in strings."

'Avengers 2' Trailer: 'Age Of Ultron' Exclusive Packaged With 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Release

...And cue an incredibly despondent version of Pinocchio's I've Got No Strings as Earth's Mightiest Heroes attempt to face a seemingly insurmountable foe (see photos above).

If Ultron and his minions don't send shivers down your spine, than the Avengers internal strife will certainly instill fear into the hearts of fans. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) accidentally created the team's latest problem, and a few of his pals will be appropriately peeved. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will take a moment to try and strangle the genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist, and Iron Man's Hulkbuster battle with Bruce Banner's (Mark Ruffalo) alter ego receives quite a bit of screen time.

The two-minute trailer ends quite ominously, showing Captain America's (Chris Evans) shattered shield just beyond the reach of an unmoving hand.

The trailer will officially be released during the Nov. 28 episode of Agents of SHIELD on ABC.
