Dancing With the Stars fan favorites Tommy Chong and Michael Waltrip are continuing to hang on in the competition despite having much lower scores overall than the rest of the competition.

Cheryl Burke 'Most Likely' Quitting After Season 19, Talks 'Saying Goodbye'

Chong and Waltrip lived to see another day on Monday night's episode of Dancing With the Stars, with Antonio Sabato Jr. being eliminated along with his partner Cheryl Burke. This means that Chong and Waltrip and their respective partners Peta Murgatroyd and Emma Slater have moved on to the Final 7 along with Alfonso Ribeiro & Witney Carson, Bethany Mota & Derek Hough, Janel Parrish & Val Chmerkovskiy, Sadie Robertson & Mark Ballas and Lea Thompson & Artem Chigvintsev.

On the overall leaderboard, Waltrip is actually the second lowest averaging celebrity of the entire season, only above Lolo Jones, who was eliminated first. Chong is eighth on the leaderboard. Both of them are below a 30 out of 40 for their average while the other five celebrities are maintaining an average of 33 or higher.

Alfonso Ribeiro 'Dealing' With Groin Injury, Admits 'It Did Hurt A Lot'

With this difference in scoring, it looks like America has taken to Chong and Waltrip. But could that love continue even further into the competition?

It actually happens quite often on Dancing With the Stars. Comedian Bill Engvall made it all the way to fourth place on Season 17, outlasting many big competitors, such as Elizabeth Burkley Lauren and Brant Daugherty despite having very low scores. Of course, there is the famous case of Cloris Leachman outlasting many competitors in Season 7 despite having a very low average score.

So far in the competition it has been Ribeiro, Mota, Parrish, Robertson and Thompson leading the pack but will one of them not have the fanbase of either Chong or Waltrip to stay next week?

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
