Despite Gemma (Katey Sagal) have bigger things on her plate, she will still find time to dole out some advice to another character on FX's Sons of Anarchy.

Jax Makes 'Disastrous' Decisions As Downward Spiral Continues

Sagal recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about Gemma and how she will be teaching Ratboy (Niko Nicotera) about women.

"Even though there's all this major drama in her life-you know, the secret that just keeps on giving-it's interesting to see that she's also who she is," Sagal told the publication. "She's that person that does have that kind of advice, that is somewhat wise in her matriarch position. That's the writers' good storytelling: You don't have everybody one note. They are three-dimensional characters."

Jimmy Smits Thinks It May 'All Go South' For Nero As Finale Approaches

Gemma has certainly been a complex character through seven seasons of Sons of Anarchy. She is still covering up her murder of Tara (Maggie Siff), which she has continued to keep from her son Jax (Charlie Hunnam). Sagal recently spoke with TVGuide.com about Gemma's final arc, essentially admitting that she probably won't have a happy ending.

"I don't think there is any relief for Gemma, dead or alive," Sagal said. "[She] is so much about her family and this life, and that's just shredding. To think of her living without [that family] or being dead, they both seem the same. There is no redemption for Gemma."

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
