Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are preparing to launch a shoe line together.

The globetrotting couple reportedly met with fashion mogul Francois-Henri Pinault to discuss financial backing for their joint venture.

"Kim and Kanye had lunch with Francois the other day at the yacht club because they're trying to negotiate a shoe deal with him," a source told RadarOnline.com.

"Francois' company... Kim and Kanye are obviously both big fans of," the source told the website exclusively. "Nothing is set in stone yet, but they're really excited about the potential footwear line."

The pair met Pinault at the Eastern Yacht Club in Marblehead, Massachusetts on Wednesday. Pinault was there to spend time with his wife, actress Salma Hayek, who is there on location filming "Grown Ups 2" with Adam Sandler. The CEO of Gucci Group oversees Yves Saint Laurent, Sergio Rossi, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen.

Kim has taken to Twitter to show her and West's adoration for footwear. She recently tweeted the couple wearing the same pair of sneakers together on two different occasions. Last week, she tweeted a picture of herself wearing a pair of tall black suede boots from his women's line, DW Kanye West.

The 31-year-old has several joint fashion ventures with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe. Together they own several DASH boutiques around the country, have launched an exclusive line with QVC (K-DASH), have limited pieces for Bebe and currently have a line at Sears. The Kardashian Kollection includes clothing, swimwear, eyewear and accessories.

West first made fashion news when he announced he would intern at a fashion house despite his success as a rapper. In 2009 he designed a pair of sneakers for French fashion brand Louis Vuitton. Last year he held a runway show to debut his women's clothing line, DW Kanye West during Paris Fashion Week. He launched his own sneaker line with Nike, Air Yeezys. The footwear is so popular that in anticipation of the Air Yeezy 2's release in June, West's fans stood on line for over a week at sneaker stores around the country to purchase a pair of the $250 sneaker, according to several reports. Daily Mail reported one pair was being auctioned in advance on EBay for $89,000.  According to Business Week, the bid for the pair closed at $90,300.
