Could a recent Twitter trend be a hint at fans getting their first look at the next movie in the Divergent series?

Could The Ending Of 'Allegiant' Be Deterring Fans From Seeing 'Insurgent?'

A trending topic on Twitter currently is #InsurgentTeaserTomorrow. The hashtag also comes along with a host of pictures that seem to hint at the first trailer for Insurgent coming out today at 11 a.m. ET. The film was originally attached to appear before Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

It wouldn't be insanely crazy to have the trailer out now. The trend specifies it as a teaser so it could be something like what The Hunger Games did and just hint at what is to come without outwardly showing a lot of footage. It also would make sense for the trailer to come out in order to boost interest in the series before it gets lost in Hunger Games hype.

Shailene Woodley & Theo James Not A Couple? Actress Seen With Rumored New Boyfriend

Either way, it will be interesting if at that time, some new footage from the movie is released.

Insurgent follows Tris (Shailene Woodley) as she searches for allies and answers in the dystopian ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris and Four (Theo James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris's family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them.

The film is directed by Robert Schwentke from a script by Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman. It also stars Jai Courtney, Naomi Watts, Ray Stevenson and Octavia Spencer.

Insurgent opens in theaters on March 20, 2015.
