On November 11, Kristen Vangsness, who plays Penelope Garcia on Criminal Minds, tweeted about her co-writing episode 13 of the CBS procedural with Erica Messer.

"I am co-writing episode 13 on this season (that @BenSavage will be in!) with my boss lady & here is us in action..." she tweeted.

She also posted a picture of her and Messer exchanging notes about the script, while comfortably seated on a couch with their laptops in place.

JJ To Confront Her Feelings About Her Sister's Death In Upcoming Episode Of Criminal Minds

On November 10, TVGuide reported that Savage will be portraying a younger version of the character which Mandy Patinkin orginally played in episode 13. This will be part of a flashback featuring David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and Gideon, rewinding to their earlier days. Robert Dunne will be playing the younger part for Rossi. Messer also spoke to TVGuide about what can be expected from the episode, which is a "love letter to fans."

"I've wanted to go back to how the BAU all started and now being in Season 10, it feels like it's time," Messer said. "I'm really excited about it to show our heroes from the beginning in the bomb shelter in Quantico. [Rossi's] memory drives us into the flashback, but it's also very reflective for the whole cast. It's not a typical episode."

Here's the official synopsis for the next episode, titled Hashtag:
